Substitution Policy

1. GENERAL INFORMATION

This Substitution Policy outlines the conditions under which Pètal (“Company”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) may substitute flowers, materials, or design elements in any floral arrangement.

Due to the seasonal, perishable, and natural nature of flowers, substitutions are sometimes necessary to ensure timely delivery and maintain product quality.

By placing an order, you acknowledge and agree to the terms of this Policy.

2. NATURE OF FLORAL PRODUCTS

All floral arrangements are:

  • Made with fresh, seasonal flowers

  • Subject to availability and market conditions

  • Unique by design

As a result:

  • Exact replication of any arrangement is not guaranteed

  • Product images on the website are for illustrative purposes only

3. RIGHT TO SUBSTITUTE

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to substitute any flowers or materials in an arrangement due to:

  • Seasonal availability

  • Supplier limitations

  • Quality standards

  • Delivery timelines

Substitutions may occur without prior notice.

4. SUBSTITUTION PRINCIPLES

When substitutions are necessary, we commit to the following:

4.1 Equal or Greater Value

All substitutions will be of equal or greater monetary value than the original components.

4.2 Style Integrity

We will maintain:

  • The overall design style

  • The intended aesthetic

  • The size and structure of the arrangement

4.3 Color Palette Consistency

We will aim to preserve the original color scheme as closely as possible.

5. FLOWER-SPECIFIC SUBSTITUTIONS

Certain flowers may be replaced due to availability, including but not limited to:

  • Seasonal flowers

  • Imported varieties

  • Specialty blooms

Substitutions will be made with flowers of similar:

  • Visual appearance

  • Texture

  • Quality

6. CONTAINER & PACKAGING SUBSTITUTIONS

We reserve the right to substitute:

  • Vases

  • Wrapping materials

  • Decorative elements

Substitutions will be made with items of similar:

  • Style

  • Quality

  • Value

7. HOLIDAYS & HIGH-DEMAND PERIODS

During peak periods (e.g., Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, major holidays):

  • Flower availability may be significantly limited

  • Substitutions are more likely to occur

  • Exact product replication is less feasible

By placing an order during these periods, you accept a higher likelihood of substitutions.

8. CUSTOM & EVENT ORDERS

For custom or event-related orders:

  • Specific flowers may be requested but not guaranteed

  • Substitutions may occur if required for quality or availability

  • Clients may be informed in advance when possible, but this is not guaranteed

9. NO REFUND FOR SUBSTITUTIONS

Substitutions made in accordance with this Policy:

  • Do not constitute a defect or error

  • Do not qualify as grounds for refund, return, or replacement

10. CUSTOMER EXPECTATION AGREEMENT

By placing an order, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • Floral arrangements are artistic and subject to variation

  • Substitutions are a standard and necessary part of floral design

  • You accept reasonable differences between product images and delivered arrangements

11. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Pètal shall not be liable for:

  • Differences in flower types or appearance

  • Customer dissatisfaction based on subjective expectations

  • Any indirect or consequential damages arising from substitutions

12. EXCEPTION HANDLING

In rare cases where a substitution significantly alters the intended design beyond reasonable standards, we may, at our sole discretion:

  • Offer a partial refund

  • Provide store credit

  • Offer a replacement arrangement

Such decisions are made on a case-by-case basis.

13. POLICY UPDATES

We reserve the right to update or modify this Policy at any time without prior notice.

Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of any changes.
